How to redesign a page you don’t have the code for

Sometimes the page you want to improve is not yours to open in a code editor: a client site before the contract starts, a competitor you study, or a production page nobody has the source for. Pixel Poke lets you redesign that page in place, in your own browser tab, and take the result with you.

Where this helps

  • Pitching a client: show a concrete improvement on their real site instead of a mockup.
  • Studying a competitor: pull apart how their layout, spacing and type are built, and try alternatives.
  • Legacy or third-party pages: propose changes to a page when the source is hard to reach.

How to do it

  1. Open the page in Chrome and turn on Pixel Poke.
  2. Select elements and change them: rewrite a headline, adjust spacing, recolor a button, move a section.
  3. Check the result at phone, tablet and desktop widths.
  4. Copy the CSS and handoff notes, or sign in with Google to save and share the page with a collaborator.

Nothing leaves your tab

Pixel Poke never writes to the site. Your changes exist only in your tab, a reload brings the original back, and page content is not sent anywhere. Work on other people’s pages stays yours.

FAQ

Can I edit a website I don’t own?

You can change how any page looks in your own browser tab with Pixel Poke. Nothing is written to the site, and a reload restores the original.

How do I show a client a redesign on their real site?

Open their site with Pixel Poke, make the changes in place, and take a screenshot or copy the CSS and notes to share.

Can I save and share my changes?

Yes. Sign in with Google (optional) to save handoffs and share a page with a collaborator.
